About this production
Lace Market Theatre stages Steven Berkoff's adaptation of Franz Kafka's The Trial, directed by Jae Marriott. The production uses a highly physical, non-naturalistic style, with an ensemble creating the shifting and surreal world around Joseph K. through movement, stylised characterisation and vocal work.
Auditions are open
Auditions take place on Tuesday 24 November 2026 at 19:15. The audition is a physical and vocal workshop exploring movement, improvisation and ensemble playing. Auditionees are also asked to prepare the specified Joseph K. speech. The production is casting Joseph K. plus an ensemble of multi-roling performers.
