About the work
Pirates! The Penzance Musical is a musical reimagining of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. Adapted by Rupert Holmes, it relocates the story to 1880 New Orleans and combines the original comic operetta with Caribbean rhythms, French Quarter influences, new orchestrations and a new book.
