About the work

Das Verlegenheitskind is a comedy in three acts by Franz Streicher, the pseudonym of Anton Hamik. A man has led his wife to believe for years that he pays support for an illegitimate daughter. When his wife invites the supposed daughter to his birthday and a young woman actually appears, misunderstandings quickly pile up.
