Das Verlegenheitskind is a three-act comedy by Franz Streicher, the pseudonym of Anton Hamik. A man has led his wife to believe for years that he pays maintenance for an illegitimate daughter. When his wife invites the supposed daughter to his birthday and a young woman really appears, misunderstandings quickly pile up.
