About this production
Leicester Drama Society stages Lucy Prebble's The Effect in the Haywood Studio at The Little Theatre in April 2027. Directed by Kane Gray, the production follows two volunteers whose attraction develops during a clinical drug trial and the doctors overseeing them.
Auditions are open
Auditions take place on 13 October 2026 at 19:00 in the 52 Down rehearsal room on Albion Street. The four unpaid amateur roles are Connie, Tristan, Dr Lorna James and Dr Toby Sealey; age ranges are flexible, with Connie and Tristan requiring strong intimacy scenes. Prospective performers are asked to register interest with director Kane Gray and can obtain the script from the theatre office or director.
