About the work

Uprising is a two-act community opera by composer Jonathan Dove and librettist April De Angelis. The story follows Lola, a young climate activist whose actions grow into a wider movement and create tension within her family. The work is written for professional soloists and orchestra together with youth and community choruses. It premiered at Glyndebourne on 28 February 2025.
