About the work
Trijn de Begijn is a Maastricht comic opera in three acts by Fons Olterdissen, with music arranged by his brother Guus Olterdissen. It premiered in Maastricht in 1912 and became a lasting part of the city's dialect repertoire; its final chorus was later adopted as the official Maastricht city song.
