About the work
“Timon of Athens” is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, probably written around 1605–06; a possible collaboration with Thomas Middleton remains debated by scholars. The wealthy Timon gives his fortune freely to friends and followers, but when he later needs help himself they abandon him, driving him into bitter rejection of society.
