About the work

The Threepenny Opera is a work of musical theatre by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, based on John Gay's The Beggar's Opera. In a satirical London, criminal Macheath and beggar-boss Peachum clash in a world where crime, business and bourgeois morality are barely distinguishable.
