About the work
A short comedy about Shimmel, a newly arrived immigrant who is talked into buying a pushcart business from the more experienced Cornelius. When Cornelius returns as a rival peddler and Shimmel falls for aspiring performer Maggie, the newcomer quickly learns to adapt and turns his ambitions toward producing theatre.
