About the work
In The Kitchen, Arnold Wesker follows an international group of cooks, waitresses and kitchen staff through a hectic working day in a large restaurant. As the pace builds toward the lunch rush, pressure, personal ambitions and relationships collide. At the centre is the troubled relationship between the German cook Peter and the married waitress Monique.
