About the work
Martin Crimp’s The Country is a psychological drama about Richard, a doctor, and his wife Corinne, who have moved from London to a rural home. When Richard brings home an unconscious young woman named Rebecca, his explanation begins to unravel and the encounter exposes deception, desire and mistrust beneath the couple’s apparent retreat from city life.
