About the work

Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt's play follows ten-year-old Oscar during a hospital stay. With the encouragement of Mamie Rose, a volunteer who visits the children's ward, he writes letters to God and imagines each remaining day as a decade of life. The stage work was created in 2003 from Schmitt's 2002 epistolary novel.
