About the work
Nach Schwaben, Kinder! by Christian Schönfelder and Klaus Hemmerle follows five children from Tyrol's Paznaun Valley who cross the Arlberg into Upper Swabia in 1882 to work there for the summer. Developed from original source material and improvisation, the play explores child labour, poverty, displacement and dependence while using open role changes and moments of humour.
