About the work
A dramatic comedy about Bessie, who has spent years caring for her ailing father Marvin and her aunt Ruth in Florida. When Bessie is diagnosed with leukemia, she contacts her estranged sister Lee in the hope of finding a compatible bone-marrow donor. The reunion forces the family to confront old resentments, responsibilities and the ways they care for one another.
