About the work
Lucky Stiff is a comic musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, based on the novel The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo. It follows Harry Witherspoon, who must take his deceased uncle to Monte Carlo and pass him off as alive in order to receive an inheritance.
