About the work
Liefdesverklaring is a theatre text in which the performers address the audience directly and overturn the usual distance between stage and auditorium. It was conceived as both a counterpiece and an ode to Peter Handke's Publikumsbeschimpfung: instead of attacking the audience, the performers declare their love for the spectators and for theatre itself.
