Jean-Paul Sartre reworks the myth of Electra and Orestes: the siblings turn against Clytemnestra and Aegisthus to avenge Agamemnon's murder. The tragedy connects that revenge story with guilt, freedom, responsibility and resistance to imposed repentance.
