Le Malade imaginaire is Molière's comedy-ballet about Argan, a wealthy hypochondriac who surrounds himself with doctors and subjects his family to his imagined illnesses. The satire targets medical pretension, self-interest, and family relationships. The play premiered at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in Paris on 10 February 1673.
