About the work

In a former monastery transformed into a psychiatric hospital in the heart of the Balkans, abandoned patients and a young doctor live isolated from the world. The accidental drop of a UN humanitarian cargo disrupts their daily lives and draws them into an attempt to reach Western Europe. Hristo Boytchev’s play combines political satire, humour and a fable about exclusion, power and utopia.
