About the work
In an imaginary Poland, Prince Sigismundo has been imprisoned since childhood because a prophecy foretells that he will become a tyrant. His father, King Basilio, tests the prophecy by bringing him to court and then making him believe that the experience was nothing more than a dream. The work explores freedom, destiny, power, and the uncertain boundary between dream and reality.
