About the work
La Cagnotte is a five-act comedy-vaudeville by Eugène Labiche and Alfred Delacour, first performed at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in Paris in 1864. After building up a shared fund during their card games, a group of provincial notables travels to Paris to spend it and becomes caught in an escalating series of misunderstandings.
