About the work

The portrait painter Thomas leads a double life as the world-famous, eccentric artist Umberto Pastellini. When his invented identity threatens to be exposed, his wife reluctantly takes on Pastellini’s identity. The appearance of, among others, a journalist and a police officer increases the confusion ever further.
