About the work

A stage adaptation of Theo Thijssen's novel about Kees Bakels, an Amsterdam boy who meets everyday life with imagination, pride and grand visions of his future. As illness, financial hardship and changes at home force him to grow up more quickly, Kees tries to preserve his self-belief and distinctive view of the world.
