About the work
Het Vergeten Kind is a socially engaged musical about Lucy, a twelve-year-old girl growing up in an unstable home who retreats into her imagination. The piece explores what children and young people can experience when mental-health problems, addiction or instability dominate family life. It was developed by VAYE Musicaltheater in collaboration with young people, people with lived experience, and professionals from education and care.
