About the work
Het geheim van klant 669 is a full-length comedy by Willy Van Gestel about a family that brings the hyperintelligent android Optima 4.0 into their home to help their withdrawn son Toby reconnect with ordinary life. When several family members project their own desires onto the robot and Optima itself appears to develop feelings, a satirical and physically comic power struggle emerges around love, jealousy, possession, and the boundary between human and programmed emotion. The play is written for four women, three men, and the voice of a young girl.
