About the work

Volker Zill’s tragicomedy “Grambowskis letzte Rolle” follows a former actor with dementia living in a care home who reconnects with theatre through memories of having played Don Quixote. The play explores ageing, dignity, memory and humanity and is freely inspired by Miguel de Cervantes’ “Don Quixote”. It premiered on 24 February 2024 with Theater Schattenlichter in Berlin.
