About the work

Die ungarische Hochzeit is an operetta by Nico Dostal with a libretto by Hermann Hermecke. Set in eighteenth-century Hungary, it follows mistaken identities, marriage plans and social differences surrounding a colonisation scheme promoted by Empress Maria Theresa. The operetta premiered in Stuttgart in 1939.
