About the work
Jón Atli Jónasson's monologue Die Tiefe (Djúpið) follows a fisherman whose vessel sinks in a storm. Alone in the cold sea, he fights to survive while confronting fear, loss and the question of what truly matters in life. The play is based on the story of an Icelandic fisherman who survived a shipwreck.
