About the work

Thomas Birkmeir’s youth theatre adaptation of the Nibelungenlied gives Kriemhild and Brünnhilde a compelling voice in the familiar story of Siegfried, Gunther, Hagen and the Nibelung treasure. Their unborn sons observe and comment on how heroism, power, a political marriage and betrayal lead to a violent confrontation at Etzel’s court.
