About the work
Morris Flynn and Mackie McMacpherson are two unsuccessful private detectives who pass themselves off as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson. On their way to the World's Fair, they become entangled in a case involving the stolen Blue Mauritius and a web of mistaken identities, imposture and romance. The musical by Marc Schubring and Wolfgang Adenberg is based on the 1937 UFA film of the same name and combines crime comedy with the sound of German sound-film revues.
