About the work
In Joseph Maria Lutz’s Bavarian folk play “Der Geisterbräu”, a debt-ridden brewery becomes the target of admirers and speculators after its proprietor dies. A brewmaster and a shepherd make the deceased apparently return as a ghost in order to drive away false friends and set matters right again in the village.
