About the work

Den politiske Kandestøber is a satirical comedy by Ludvig Holberg. Pewterer Herman von Bremen neglects his work and family for political discussions with other artisans. When he is proclaimed mayor as a joke, he proves unable to cope with the responsibilities and decisions associated with the office.
