De Caraïbische Zee is a Dutch-language play by René Verheezen. Two patients, the older Mie and the younger Nicole, share a hospital room and confront their fears, frustrations and hopes. Family, visitors and hospital staff bring the outside world into the room as a close bond gradually develops between the two women. The play combines humour with a realistic look at illness, human relationships and vulnerability.
