About the work
Brassed Off is Paul Allen's stage adaptation of Mark Herman's screenplay. In the fictional mining town of Grimley, the threatened closure of the pit puts jobs, families and the local colliery brass band at risk. Conductor Danny tries to keep the musicians together and their ambition of reaching the national championships in London alive as pressure on the community mounts.
