Blut am Hals der Katze

In Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s play, the extraterrestrial comic-book character Phoebe Zeitgeist comes to Earth to learn the language of humans. She observes encounters, conflicts, dependencies, and social roles, adopting individual phrases and later using them outside their original context. In this way, the play exposes the violence, emptiness, and self-deception concealed behind everyday language.
