About the work

Billy Roche’s Belfry is a drama about Artie, a middle-aged church sacristan whose quiet life changes when he begins an affair with Angela, a married woman who helps with the church flowers. The play forms part of Roche’s Wexford Trilogy and was first staged at the Bush Theatre in London in 1991.
