Avond
Play text: Bouke Oldenhof
About the work
Avond is a tragicomedy by Bouke Oldenhof about caregiving, ageing and the question of how people can retain control over the end of their lives. Anneke and Theo try to give Anneke’s parents Daniël and Wimmy a dignified final phase of life, while Daniël and Wimmy hold on to their independence and their decision to decide together how their lives will end. The play originated from the Frisian production It wie op in simmerjûn and later received a Dutch-language version.
