About the work
In a bourgeois family gathered around General Léon Saint-Pé, the love affair of his hunchbacked sister Ardèle with a tutor who is also hunchbacked provokes scandal and hypocrisy. The dark comedy sets their relationship against the conventions and failed love lives of the other family members.
