About the work
Annie M.G. op Soestdijk is a tragicomedy set in 1958, shortly after the Greet Hofmans affair. Queen Juliana and her old university friends revive their amateur theatre group and ask Annie M.G. Schmidt to write a play; her Vrouwen om Dr. Deninga uncomfortably mirrors tensions within the royal marriage.
