About the work
Ian Wooldridge’s stage adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm follows the animals of a farm as they overthrow their human owner and attempt to build a society of their own. As power concentrates in the hands of the pigs, the revolution develops into a satire of authoritarianism and political corruption. The play was first performed at the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow in 1982.
