About the work

Set in ancient Rome, the musical follows the enslaved Pseudolus as he tries to win his freedom by helping his young master Hero pursue Philia. The farce combines mistaken identities, schemes and vaudeville-style comedy with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
