About the group
Tynemouth Priory Theatre is an amateur theatre group on Tyneside, formed in 1946 and registered as a charity. It stages five productions a year and a pantomime each January, and has run its own theatre in a former Wesleyan chapel on Percy Street since 1972.
Auditions and play-readings are open to non-members; those cast in a part join the society. Members also take part in club nights, play-readings and social events around the productions.
