About this production
Sioux Center Arts stages Joe DiPietro's comedy Over the River and Through the Woods as its fall 2026 community-theatre production. The play centers on Nick and his four grandparents as a job opportunity threatens to take him away from their close-knit New Jersey family routine.
Auditions are open
Open auditions are held at Sioux Center Library, Meeting Room A, on Thursday, September 10 from 6:00–9:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 12 from 2:00–5:00 p.m. No appointment is required; performers may arrive at any point during either session. Auditioners read provided scenes or monologues, and the individual or small-group audition is expected to take about 30 minutes. The six roles span ages 20–80. Those unable to attend the listed sessions may contact the theatre production manager to ask about an alternative arrangement.
