Auditions are open
Auditions for Priory Theatre's production of Moriarty, directed by Caroline McCluskey, are held in the theatre foyer at the Priory Theatre, Rosemary Hill, Kenilworth, on Thursday 3 December 2026 at 7.30pm and Sunday 6 December 2026 at 1pm. The production plays from 26 May to 5 June 2027.
Five actors are being cast:
- Actor 1: Sherlock Holmes (male).
- Actor 2: Doctor Watson (male), who also acts as narrator and speaks directly to the audience.
- Actor 3: 13 roles including Moriarty and Mycroft (male, also plays female roles).
- Actor 4: 3 roles including Irene Adler and Mrs Hudson (female, also plays a male role).
- Actor 5: 9 female roles with a range of accents.
No audition pieces are given out in advance. Auditions use group reading pieces from different sections of the play, and there may be some improvisation including movement. The play involves a lot of movement, fight scenes and fast pacing. Membership is not required to audition, but it is required to take part in a Priory Theatre production. Questions about the audition process go to the director, Caroline McCluskey. The full call is available through the audition link in the Links section.
