Greek Theatre Players
About the group
Greek Theatre Players is an amateur company based in Walthamstow, east London, founded in 1958 to make use of the open-air Greek Theatre in Walthamstow Village. It stages an annual traditional Shakespeare production there, with recent productions including The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Tempest.
New members are welcome both on stage and in backstage and front-of-house roles. The company holds introductory sessions on Saturday mornings, indoors until the weather warms, to explain how outdoor staging differs from indoor work. Rehearsals take place at Walthamstow School for Girls.
