Notes from a Small Island
About this production
Notes from a Small Island is Tim Whitnall's stage adaptation of Bill Bryson's travelogue, staged by the Company of Players in Hertford. A young American arrives at Dover in 1973 intending to travel the whole of Britain, and returns in 1994. The play is written for seven performers.
Auditions are open
Open auditions for Notes from a Small Island are held in the Foyer on Sunday 18 October 2026 at 10am and Wednesday 21 October 2026 at 8pm. Non-members may audition; membership is needed only once cast or joining the creative team.
Seven performers are needed: Bill, a gentle American, for which anyone aged roughly 22 to 74 is considered; and three actors and three actresses who play many roles, from a soft-porn actor to Sir David Attenborough. Accents are an advantage but not essential.
To sign up, or to receive a script if unable to attend either date, contact Paul Morton on 07906 690082 or at [email protected].
