Bel Canto Oostzaan bracht in 1997 Jacques Offenbachs operette La Vie parisienne, op tekst van Henri Meilhac en Ludovic Halévy en in een Nederlandse vertaling van Joop Fransen. De productie volgt een Zweeds echtpaar in Parijs, waar de dandy Gardefeu zich als gids voordoet en een reeks feesten, vermommingen en romantische verwikkelingen veroorzaakt.
