Bel Canto Oostzaan speelde in 1981 Jacques Offenbachs operette La Vie parisienne, op tekst van Henri Meilhac en Ludovic Halévy, in de Nederlandse vertaling van Joop C.G. Fransen. Een Zweedse baron en zijn vrouw raken tijdens een bezoek aan Parijs verstrikt in de intriges en verkleedpartijen van de Parijse beau monde.
