Bel Canto Oostzaan speelde in 1985 de operette La belle Hélène van Jacques Offenbach, op tekst van Henri Meilhac en Ludovic Halévy, in de Nederlandse vertaling van Joop C.G. Fransen. In deze komische bewerking van de Trojaanse mythe probeert Paris de gehuwde Helena voor zich te winnen.
