Lena is a play by Tim Whitnall about the singer Lena Zavaroni, staged by Rainham Theatrical Society at the Oasthouse Theatre in Rainham, Kent, and directed by Dean Caston. The production is planned to run in March 2027 and to be entered in the Kent Drama Full Length Play Festival.

Auditions for Lena are held on Monday 26 October 2026 at 8pm at the Oasthouse Theatre, Stratford Lane, Rainham. Pre-auditions can be arranged with the theatre for anyone unable to attend.
Roles: Hughie Green (50s, television talent-show host and narrator); Victor Zavaroni (50s, Lena's father, a musician); Lena Zavaroni (30s, former child star); Hilda Zavaroni (40s/50s, Lena's mother); Dorothy Solomon (40s/50s, Lena's personal manager); Tommy Scott (40s, record producer, also playing the Doctor).
Singing is required for Lena ("Ma! He's Making Eyes At Me" and "One Day at a Time") and Hilda ("It Ain't the Spotlight"). Auditionees must have paid annual membership before the audition date. Scripts are available at the theatre bar. Contact: [email protected] or 0333 666 3366.
